A PRIVATE SECONDARY EDUCATION SCHOOL IN ARUSHA MUNICIPALITY, TANZANIA, EAST AFRICA. WITH A SUBSTANTIAL SPONSORED STUDENT POPULATION.
OFFERING ORDINARY AND ADVANCE LEVEL EDUCATION,BOARDING AND CATERING SERVICES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS.
We help boys and girls at their tender age to get not only Education but Protection and Counseling .... So we have properly fenced our properties and continuously grind our students towards exceeding their parents expectations.

When did we start the school:

The School began in January 2006, with 57 lovely form one students, five teachers and a score of non teaching staff, the first batch  of O-levels graduated October 2010 by then the number had risen to 102. A-Level programme was launched with four students late in the same year (2006) They all passed and most of them went on the universities, they set a good precedent most of our A-level graduants gain requisite qualifications to join tertiary education.

School Boy Why did we start the school:
There has been an increasing awareness in recent years over the importance of secondary education to students failing to be enrolled in government schools despite having the needed qualifications, not only that but also to give another chance to recover along the way for those who failed exams or deadlines and therefore not allowed in government schools .

This has been in line with the government private public partnership policies in the education sub sector, which allows and actually encourages; establishment of private schools. In realization of all this, The Board of Mairiva Limited decided to establish a secondary school in one of its properties, we now think we shall be doing schools and schools only.

Why the name Mairiva?
The school name is in the memory of the Late Theresia Saronga Mlingi ( 1940 - 1978 ) , fondly known as "Mairiva" a Chagga name, these are kind of names usually given to a newborn child, other names are given at baptism and later on another traditional name is given.

Courses and Services Offered:

Mairiva Secondary School is a Co-educational school with Hostel and Catering services for both girls and boys. The school is registered by the Ministry of Education and Vocation Studies of Tanzania (Moe) and it is following the curricular and school running standards issued by the Moe, enabling students to sit for exams by the National Examination of Council of Tanzania (Necta). Students passing Necta exams can join higher learning institutions in Tanzania and elsewhere recognizing the same.

Below are courses currently run by the school

(i) Ordinary Level Secondary Education - Form I to Form IV (O-Level)

(ii) Advance Secondary education- Form V and Form VI (A-Level) We have all arts and commercial combinations HGL, HGK, HKL, HGE, EGM and ECA and for the next intake mid march 2009 we shall introduce science combinations as well namely PCM, PCB, CBG and PGM.

(iii) Remedial courses for students wishing to re-sit for form four exams popularly known as (pre form five). Some students enroll exclusively for this course while others carry it in parallel with the A-level courses hoping to pass the former in good time before sitting for the A-Level exams.

(iv) Looming in the horizon are the adult courses catering for the above three programs to the late comers. The government does not have the same. We have sensed a need of this categorization to enable those of 'wrong' ages to gracefully recover in parallel with their younger sisters and brothers or better still daughters and sons.
